It’s not always easy to tell when we are in a state of imbalance, though there are always signs. I may have a migraine or an unrestful night. It usually means I’m stressed about something. I may forget to pay a bill on time or miss an important email that I needed to immediately respond to. It generally means I’ve taken on too much and I need to slow down and be more thoughtful about engaging in my own self-care. My point is that we all have things that can throw off our holistic wellness in one way or another. But, what can be do about it?
Holistic wellness is like your body’s way of putting forth a team effort to manifest the best (most balanced) version of you. By incorporating key actions into our daily routine, we can bring that sense of balance into our lives. And when we consistently apply positive strategies that work best for our overall health, this Holistic Wellness can help us achieve the personal and professional goals we set for ourselves. It’s a win and a win!
SEE IF OPS: The 8 Dimensions of Wellness
Scientists have discovered 8 Dimensions of Wellness that each contribute to this inner balance. Most people know of 3 or 4 of these, but having the knowledge is different from applying that knowledge regularly.
SEE IF OPS is an acronym I created to help you remember the 8 Dimensions of Wellness. Here’s a quick breakdown of each of these that I adapted for you:
- SEE:
- Spiritual wellness draws upon your subconscious thoughts and feelings. It is the light within you and aligns with your values and beliefs.
- Emotional wellness is the act of balancing your internal feelings; these are your ‘moods’ and depending on your energy, they can be perceived as from a range of negative to positive.
- Environmental wellness reflects your relationship with Earth. What we put in is what we get back.
- IF:
- Intellectual wellness is the act of expanding your knowledge base to help you grow your mental capabilities.
- Financial wellness is when you have what you need to thrive in a state of abundance and prosperity.
- OPS:
- Occupational wellness reflects a level of professional development where your passion aligns with your role and responsibilities.
- Physical wellness is more than just about diet or exercise. Though these are very important. Other aspects may include your genetic factors, proneness to potential chronic diseases like cancer, and even lack of sleep.
- Social wellness reflects our interactions with others within our community and around the world.
Exploring all of these dimensions in greater detail may help you navigate your life better. This can ensure that obstacles you encounter along your journey don’t hinder the improvements you can make and the satisfaction you feel from reaching your milestones.

Referencing each of the blog posts, while completing the PDF, may help you take steps towards achieving holistic wellness in a way that works best for your circumstances.
Now-let’s see if we can take advantage of all the opportunities this world offers. Get it! 😉

Wow! What a timely post. Right now, it feels like a struggle to stay in balance with all the madness going on in the world, and pandemic life. I so much appreciate these reminders. We’re all still a work in progress and I’m looking forward to the new series (and my pdf at the end 😉). I totally need it all!
See-if-Ops OK! I’m interpreting this to mean that the possibilities are endless…Anyone can prioritize the order & amount in which one needs to apply oneself when they choose to improve! This is an AWESOME FRAMEWORK! Thanks so much!
